The Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) serves many roles, by providing diagnosis
and treatment, also training for patients, families, and caregivers. Another
important part of our services includes providing the necessary training and
education resources to health care professionals.
The Pathologist uses communiation diagnosis and treatment to evaluate and treat
receptive and expressive language disorder, articulation, fluency, voice problems,
social rules of communication (pragmatics), and aural rehabilitation for the hearing
impaired. The SLP also provides diagnosis and treatment of poor control of food or
liquid; slow chewing; delayed trigger of the swallow relex, and related feeding and
swallowing disorders.
Another type of therapy we offer is Dichonics, this is a multitasking program designed
to measure and modify children with depressed language and learning skills due to
Auditory Processing Disorders, or APD. Dichonics is also used in Occupational Therapy.
